Turin is the first capital of modern Italy which owes its recent refurbishment and newfound cleanliness to the investment of the 2006 Winter Olympics. While not famous as a cultural city like Rome or Florence its setting is very pleasant with the Po River flowing through the city and the Italian Alps off in the distance.

A fascinating metropolis and home to Juventus, Italian film and Fiat motorcars. And, just a one hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
