The city of Trabzon

Trabzon is an old city on the Black Sea coast line at the northeast corner of Turkey. Famous sights worth a visit nearby are the Sumela Monasteryat at Macka and the mountain village of Uzungol, where you may well think that you're in a Swiss or Austrian alpine village.

The airport, however, is ideally located for transfers to nearby Zigana which is a wonderful ski centre offering every kind of lodging to its ski visitors as well as shops to by food and drink. Most popular from December to April with an average snow depth of 1.5m.
