Excellent service , got a bit confused as we arrived out of airport , did not know how to find bus as there were many busses from same company . Perhaps you could state " turn right as you exit in to airport lobby , there are shuttle bus offices there , on exiting front doors there are several bus parks to the left as you exit airport . doors , each one is numbered . Go to the park number as instructed . Bus will be waiting for you.

My booking required a different number of passengers on the return journey. This was not reflected in the confirmation despite my selecting precisely the number of passengers I required. I had to pay an amendment fee to get it changed.
Also not all passengers need to check in. I was travelling with hand luggage only and had checked-in online. It would have been great to have had the option of a collection time at the time of booking instead of an automatic 3 hours before departure. I tried to make the change locally but the office was closed.
The transfer itself was fine. The driver was very helpful however the information on the voucher was incorrect . The driver was not waiting for me with my name on a card in the place where the voucher told me to go. A couple of phone calls to the local office later I was told to go to the Shuttledirect desk crammed in a far corner of Faro airport. I then had to wait for a driver to collect me. Not really the smooth process I thought I had paid for.
Negative : return pickup time unknown at time of booking
Green bus voucher didn't work on website when checking return transfer. Luckily my hotel phoned on my behalf to resolve. Time of pickup also 1 hour earlier than needed to be. Main positive was value for money.

I think it's worth noting that Shuttle Direct seem to just outsource your transfer to some local company. In our case from Faro it was GreenBus.
The driver taking us from the airport to the hotel was extremely grumpy, and got upset when he found out which hotel we were staying at...to the point of ringing the office and having a heated discussion with someone.
The transfer back to the airport was all the nightmares you read about on review sites. We waited 1 hour 15 minutes past our pick up time before giving up and getting a taxi, which cost an extra 27 euros on top of what we'd already paid. I intend to contact Mastercard and report that I've been charged for a service that was not supplied.
The receptionist at the hotel rang the transfer company about 5 times and got nothing but excuses.

My only concern was that the reference number was not clearly shown on the printed voucher. The number was quoted but it did not mention reference number. This caused a problem when I was confirming transfer on day prior to leaving. I had to check my emails and then found that the number on the voucher was the reference number.
We had a long wait on the shuttle bus after arriving as the driver appeared to be waiting for passenger(s) who did not turn up. Return transfer was fine. Overall a good service. Thank you.
