Lying in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy some 125km south of Venice, the city of Ravenna is relatively unknown on the Italian cultural circuit yet it is home to numerous monuments which appear on the UNESCO World Heritage List. These attractions have been recognised for their exquisite mosaics which date back to the 5th century and are representative of the Roman, Arian, and Byzantine civilizations which settled in the region.

A Perfect Romantic Day in Verona

I’m a sucker for romance, and whenever I am asked about a romantic spot that has really stuck with me, my mind always wanders back to Verona, in Italy. Stunning architecture as the backdrop for candlelit dinners, glasses of fabulous wine enjoyed on balmy evenings, deliriously happy couples riding Vespas along the charming narrow streets, and delightful hotels nestled among some of the most beautiful cobbled streets in the world; you couldn’t really ask for more.
