This is a traditional city with an air of quiet and refined culture. There's enough to keep you interested but certainly not too much to overwhelm. Those with an interest in history will find much to enjoy. The Pushkin Museum pays tribute to the great Russian poet and, while small, is extremely well curated. The National Opera is housed in a lovely building and if you get the chance to attend a show it's an extra treat. Other worthwhile historical sites include the National Museum of History and the Nativity Cathedral. The verdant Parcul Dendrarium is a beautifully laid out green space with ponds, walking paths and rare plants. Parcul Valea Morilor and Stefan cel Mare (Central Park) offer a couple of other great escapes into nature.
